That all looks pretty unfortunate. If it's the product itself then the Pentel will work a lot better. The ink is rather wet and flows freely, and it simulates the feel of a brush quite well.

Alberto - thanks for reminding me... I need to amend this review. I recently got another one of these pens from Karen and once I popped in the cartridge, it started to flow almost immediately.... I'm led to think that the 1st one was defective in some way - or maybe it was the ink cartridge. I don't remember trying more than one in that original pen. (Which I no longer have.)

Glad I spotted this review on time, for I was slightly tempted to give this pen a try now that is featured among the recent new arrivals at Jet Pens. I think I will continue to stick to my Pentel Pocket Brush pen and selection of Kuretake brush pens.

Gentian - nothing worked. Squeezing the barrel would mean squeezing the cartridge, which we couldn't do by hand....

Anonymous - Where did you find the pen for sale? I couldn't find any online retailers to include with the post. Glad you got yours working. Yes, I do have the cartridge inserted firmly - thanks for asking. I kept the pen in a vertical position for several days and the ink still wouldn't flow. Only a tiny bit flows to the brush and I can't get it to flow any better than that.

yesterday i bought the creapen by j.herbin. i don't have any problems. it takes some time till the ink is ready to use. but it works.
i'm very sorry that you have so many problems with it. are you sure that the cartridge is insert right? you must pull them very strongly into the paintbrush. (i made it wrong first)than keep it in a vertical position. my paintbrush worked after 15 minutes.
i hope you will get the paintbrush running. =)

I'm sorry it is not working. That is really disappointing. I have never tried the J Herbin one, but with my Pentel brush pens, sometimes gently flexing the base of the brush helps the ink to start flowing, or using something absorbent like a paper towel can help sometimes too. However the design of the barrel with some of those allows you to squeeze the barrel to push the ink forward. Maybe it also might be a defective pen? Not sure if any of these suggestions are worthwhile. I hope you can get it to work!

Ink flow problems for me are usually fixed by forcing water in and out of the pen with a syring/needle combo.
It worked really well for my school pen when it got a clog.
