"She is Light" Work in Progress Part 5: Perfection at Our Core

"She is Light" a work in progress.
05/11 Added yellow (golden) halo. Charcoal sketch to block out next layer. Added black to head, chest & belly. Doodles w/ white charcoal pencil.

05/11 Conceptual notes update: Green is often identified as the color of healing - and also of the heart chakra. I can't help but think "Self-Love" when I see this - something I am notoriously bad at providing to myself. Green is also the color associated with the Archangel Rafael. (who in the Judeo-Christian tradition performs all manners of healing) I am contemplating changing the title.

05/13 Added black body lines with willow charcoal. What a mess! I will use a graphite pencil next time.  I am unsure what to do with arms yet. Did a lot of little touchups throughout. Added yellow to face & body.

The yellow (Gold) is representational of our unrealized self - of perfection at our core. Of the person that others see when they look at us.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this work. JUNE 7TH SAVE THE DATE! First Friday in June is when this exhibit will open. It will then be on display until July 3rd.
