05/10 Finished the green rays all the way around. *Added special blessings, mantras, affirmations and intentions w/ white charcoal pencil. Added blue layer.
* These all have special significance to me. Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung is a Tibetan Healing Mantra. Happy Healthy Calm & Strong is my own personal mantra. Ad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh Siri Guru Davey Nameh Waje Guru Ji Kay Khalsa Wahe Guri Ji Ki Fateh is a mantra of protection. Om Mani Padme Hum means love is everywhere/everything. Om Amogha Voirocana Mani Mudra Mani Padme Jvala Pravartaya Hum is the mantra of light. Om Hum So Hum is a mantra to balance our male and female energies and interestingly enough, "So Hum" or "Soham" also means, "I am that."
The "Om" on her throat relates to the sound that is used to activate the throat chakra.
"May all be happy, May all be at peace, May Peace Prevail on Earth, So be it and so it is" is a mindfulness prayer. I am not aware of it's origin but I am aware of at least two different versions.

Initially, I conceived of the figure's pose being related to release, of letting go of things that no longer served me. (As "She" is of course, Me. And you, and you, and you as well.) "I am fearless" is a reminder to me that I have at times been incredibly fearless in my actions and that I can tap into that at any time I wish.

05/11 Added 2nd coat of green. Changed the bottom so she was no longer floating. Added light blue layer.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this work. JUNE 7TH SAVE THE DATE! First Friday in June is when this exhibit will open. It will then be on display until July 3rd.

"She is Light" is looking really good! Love the colors. Are you leaving the affirmations underneath as a hidden message? Or will you have to write/paint them in again over the layers of paint? If so, oh my, how painstaking! What patience you have. Can't wait to see the finished piece.
I haven't yet decided whether to include more of the mantras, etc. on subsequent layers. I think there may be some... Still too soon to tell. Thanks for commenting!
I'm so delighted to have found your blog! Your work is amazing.
