For years, this has been my "mission statement": "To love, to laugh, to learn; to teach and to heal."
But for many more years than that, since I was 11 to be exact, I've had another, equally important, set of values: "A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."
Like Uncle Hub says in "Secondhand Lions": "Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."
