Review: Diamine Saddle Brown Fountain Pen Ink

Diamine Saddle Brown ink

Diamine Saddle Brown tested in a fine nibbed Lamy Safari fountain pen on Paperblanks off-white ruled paper.

This is the color of fresh dirt. A very earthy brown.

While testing the different Diamine inks, I heard someone on the Fountain Pen Network say that this one of their favorite inks so I was eager to try it. It has great flow and you can see some shading - it's not super saturated.

While I've never been overly enthusiastic about brown inks, I actually quite liked this one. I'll keep it around for a while to see if it's a permanent keeper.

Buy Diamine Inks in the UK at The Writing Desk or directly from Diamine and in the US from The Pear Tree Pen Company Ink is sold in 80ml glass bottles, 30 ml plastic bottles, and selected colors are available in cartridge form.

I am not aware of any of Diamine's inks to be waterproof, and I have not tested them as such. Most fountain pen inks are watersoluble, and therefore, not waterproof - with the exception of several of Noodler's Bulletproof inks.
