Review: Diamine Chocolate Brown Fountain Pen Ink

Diamine Chocolate Brown

Diamine Chocolate Brown ink tested in a wet medium nibbed Sailor Sapporo fountain pen on Paperblanks off-white ruled paper.

Very good flow in this wet writer. Ink is very saturated though some shading is evident.

Color of a very dark chocolate. Sort of reminds me of Noodler's Red-Black which I like but I find the Red-Black takes forever to dry on any paper.

This one is definitely a keeper, though I might like it even more in a thinner nibbed pen.

Oooh, that's a lovely one. I find it hard to find just the right brown. Do you think it would work well in a slower writer like a fine/ xfine Safari? Diamine can be picky in those. I might stick to plain old Waterman Havana till I know. :)

Hi Diane!

I have a few Safari's that write "thin" but I'm almost finished testing the original 60 Diamine inks and out of all of them, only a small handful did I find to run dry. (Though I didn't test every ink in every pen) If you don't want to but a full bottle, try a sample from Pear Tree Pens Ink sampling program
