From the J Herbin website:
"J. Herbin is the oldest name in pen inks in the world. M. Herbin created “The Jewel of Inks” in his shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris in 1700."
"Each bottle of 30 ml has an integrated pen rest. They are known as “D bottle pen inks. The “D” refers to the old French unit of measure “la Demi Courtine”.
* 30 beautiful colors!
* Non toxic and pH neutral
* Lightfast
* Water based
* Flows smoothly and is fast drying
* All natural dyes

I still don't know what I want in a green ink. Lierre Sauvage is a bright Shamrock green with yellow tendencies. (Why do so many Herbin inks lean towards yellow?)
This ink has good flow, some shading, and is moderately saturated.

Herbin inks run $7.20 per 30ml bottle at The Ink Flow

I enjoy writing with Lierre Sauvage. I use it in a Parker Vacumatic with a fine nib which gives a nice wet line for good color density. I like the Kelly Green color when writing checks.
You may want to look at Noodler Zhivago. This is a Charleston Green. Initially it looks black but is really a very dark green. Quite an interesting color, especially when used with a flexible nib to show shadings of the color.
Thanks for this review! I enjoyed the earlier one on the yellower green. Then today I was in an art shop (I'm in Paris) and what should I find but an entire array of these inks! I picked the Lierre Sauvage without realizing you'd reviewed this one too. Can't wait to try it out!
