From the 24 comments posted, the random number generator at http://www.random.org/ picked Lucky #19!!! And that would be Anam Cara from the FPN! Yay Cara!!!!
I just fond a website today while scouring through a search for a new sketchbook that would compliment my use of different materials. I wanted to ask you what you thought if (if you've gotten the chance to use) the Fabriano Quadrato Artist's Journal. http://www.dickblick.com/products/fabriano-quadrato-artists-journal/
Also, I randomly went through a bunch of your posts and I noticed your loves of pens and what-not, so I was wondering if you've ever used any old Esterbrook materials and what you think of them. Thanks =)
Hi Nick - I have reviewed the Quadrato here: http://www.biffybeans.com/2009/01/review-fabriano-quadrato-artists.html (Links to my paper/pen/ink reviews are down the left hand side of my blog)
I like the Fabriano products very much, though I do wish the covers were a little more sturdy.
I had an Esterbrook that I bought from Ebay. The sac was intact, but the nib was off. I bough a new (old) nib and that one was off as well. I ended up selling it. Loads of people on the Fountain Pen Network love Esterbrook. I personally prefer cartridge/piston filler pens. It was a small, very lightweight pen.
Oh, YAY!!! Thank you so much Biffybeans! Gosh, there are no words that describe just how excited and grateful I am ~ I usually don't win contests. Perhaps this was meant for me! (I like to think so!) Can hardly wait to frame and hang it in a place of honor, where I can meditate on it...~sigh~ You just made my day! My week! MY MONTH! Thank you! Love & light, ~Cara
