Writer's Inspiration: The Moleskine Book of Lists

Rhodia ePure, Large Moleskine & my current favorite fountain pens

If you ever experience writer's block, or if you would like a way to keep the creative juices flowing, you might want to start a "Book of Lists." I have one large Moleskine journal set up as a "BOL" and I use it to list out whatever comes to mind.

Such as:

Concerts I've been to
People I can remember from elementary school
People that have broke my heart
Books I've loved
Movies I hated
Favorite foods
Favorite Music
Birds I've seen
Pets in my life
My old neighbors
Top meals ever

Lists such as these can trigger a lot of memories and material to write about. Be prepared to put pen to paper when the juices start flowing!

Tell me - do you keep a book of lists?

For your book of lists, though, do you just have pages and pages of "lists" or do you leave space between each entry for writing?

I do do the same thing, but I also write down phrases that catch my attention, or headlines. I have my collection on a ring bound index card collection. A book might be easier to use, though.

Hi lilnizzie! Basically just pages of lists. Sometimes I leave room if I feel I might have more to add at a later time....

That's an awesome idea. I have too many notebooks. I think I'll start turning them into list-books :-)

Kate - it's fun! You should definitely do it!

very cool idea. I just found your blog and am thrilled to know that there are those whose pen and paper obsessions far outstrip my own. Thanks for all the great reviews.
